Zednik

last night as i watched espn i was shocked to see the Florida Panthers forward Richard Zednik had been hit in the neck with a skate and was cut really bad. As he skated off of the ice he left a blood trail. The audience was speechless and the players were motionless. The game was stopped and almost canceled. Once they found out that the trainers had got the blood stopped and he was in stable condition on his way to have surgey done, the game was back underway. This was very similar to a incident in the 1980's when another NHL player was minutes from death after he was cut on the neck by a sharp skate. Zednikl went into surgery shortly after he reached the hospital and is now resting. The surgery went well and he should recover to 100%.

Yeah I saw that to, I couldn't believe he had the power to skate off the ice losing all that blood like that. I think this has started people in a panic about hockey players needing to wear neck protectors. I don't think that's necassary since this is only the second time its happen in the history of the NHL.
