first day of trout season

today was the first day of trout season as many of you know. I went to camp last night as we do every year for the beginning of the season. we went out for awhile and when we returned we were sitting around inside camp when we heard some noises outside.
We got the spot light and looked out and saw that we had a bear eating everything in our coolers. This bear was huge. My dad has shot a few bears hunting so he can kinda judge the size of them. He said it was probable over 400 pounds. Like i said it was huge. but today we went fishing caught alot of fish, and i had to return to SRU so i can emprove my portfolio that is due on tuesday.. Luckely mine is almost done i just gotta fine tune it and write my reflections for the domains. But needless to say i had to leave camp a day early. Im not all that happy about that.

NCAA

This years NCAA games were one of the most exciting years. I have always loved watching the basketball games but it was different this year. Each and every game was close, with many upsets. I won my bracket with outstanding numbers. No one could beat me before the final four games. I won the bracket and put my money i won to my PE warm up siut. wasnt real happy about that but hey i had to get it.

projects

as the semister slowley comes to a close the projects and work load seem to just pile up. This is the time of year when we need to start and focus on finals but in alot of my classes i have so many projects due that studying for finals is going to have to wait untill the week of probably to start studying. . trout season also opens next weekend and this will put a damper into me getting work done on the weekends and week nights. I hate this time of year. THe weather is breaking and getting nice out but the work is piling up.

teaching

well today i had to teach a lesson on cricket for striking and fielding and it was a tough one. It all started off bad. I tried contacting my partner all weekend to meet so we would go over the lesson plan that i put together because he would never answer my phone calls. Well sunday ngiht i never got a phone call back so i went to sleep. This morning i woke up with 2 missed calls from him. He wanted to meet last ngiht at 11 o clock. i ended up meeting him the morning our lesson was due to be taught. we began to teach and i was trying to let him teach but it was affecting our grade. I ended up teaching the lesson myself petty much. Luckly coach Ruiz noticed what was going on and split our grades up. This lesson today made me realize that you have to be ready for anything and expect the worse when planning a lesson.

cricket

On monday i will be teaching a lesson on cricket. This is the first time i have created a lesson plan for an activity i have never played nor heard of. Im kinda nervous because if i get stuck i cant just think of past experiences and use that to help the class out. When teaching something like softball i can relate back to baseball and slow pitch softball and answer the questions that someone might have. but with cricket it is completly different. I am looking forward to teaching and learning something new but at the same time im kinda nervous.

Duke looses in 2nd round

As many of you know Duke ranked number 2 in the west lost in the 2nd round to WVU. This screwed up many peoples brackets and upset alot of people. But for me this is what i expected. I had Duke loosing in the 2nd round to wvu and people were making fun of me saying it would never happen. But as it turned out the crazy upset that i picked turned out to be true. this years bracket is turning out to be a pretty crazy one with lots of unexpected upsets. How cant u love this time of year. College basketball is on just about every minute of the day. IF there is not a game on ESPN is breaking down and taking thier picks for the next round..

college basketball

Tomorrow starts March Madness for college basketball. This time of year I can never wait for. But once again it is here, and I am excited. I was recent ally filling out my brackets and vie never had this much trouble before. All of the teams seem to be so good this year. It is a toss up between all of them. I finished my polls and keep looking back at them thinking about changing a few of my picks. I do have a number of so called upsets but like I said this year has a lot of toss ups. Id like Pittsburgh to go far but I don’t see that happening even though they are hot right now. I took them to the sweet 16 then knocked them off. Even though I only have them going this far, I would like them to make it further.

College of ed

Today i found out that i must apply to the college of ed this semister. This means i must gather everything up by April 2nd. I was under the understating that we just had to apply before we had 90 credits. But from what i hear today it is before 70 credits. My advisor does not notify his students about anything. IT would be nice if i had an advisor that actually cared about his students and helped them out..

BIG BEN

Yesterday it was announced that Big Ben sighned a contract for 102 million dollars over the next 8 years. This is the largerst money deal the pittsburgh steelers have ever signed. How does everyone else feel about this. I belive they should not have signed him for this much. Yes he is a good QB but i dont think they should have spent this much on him. He is probably the best QB the steelers will have for awhile but thye could have picked up some other players and lessened Bens contract. This money could have been put to use in other areas that would have benifited us more.

old sports injuries

I hate this time of year. For one the weather never knows what it wants to do. IT can be snowing one day, and the next it is raining, and the next its 50 degrees. But the main reason this time of year bothers me is because all of my old sports injuries seem to act up. With the temperate changing all of the time my joints kill me. My knee and shoulder are the worst. Its times like these that i with i hadnt played sports for 16 years of my life. I recently sprained my ankle also, so now i am dealing with that. It happened yesterday so this morning when i got up i could barley walk. Its sucks to think about this but with all of the injuries i have had i am not looking forward to getting older. They bother me alot now, whats it going to be like 20 or 30 years from now?

Intramural games

Last night my team and I had another intramural basketball game. During this game I became very frustrated with the officiating. I understand that the game is not going to be called perfectly, but it could have been officiated a lot better. There were a number of times when the refs called terrible fouls or didn’t call any foul. The game got completely out of control. People should have been ejected but weren’t. There were fists almost thrown and nothing happened. Needless to say as the game got out of control my team started playing terrible. We lost by 5. Another thing about these intramural games is play offs start Friday and the notified us Monday night about our game time on Friday. My team has 3 players going out of town for the weekend so now we have to play with 4 players. We were a good team and were expecting to make it to the finals, but now we will probably be beaten on Friday be knocked out of the playoffs. I feel that this program could be run better. What’s everyone else’s opinion on this???

Iup game

Last night I attended the SRU vs. IUP basketball game. During the first half SRU was dominating the court. The were dropping 3 pointers left and right. Running the same plays over and over it was looking like we were going to dominate the game. As the second half started SRU began to fall onto their heals playing more of a defensive style of play. It was not working though. IUP was going on a scoring streak closing the gap of SRU's lead. We then began to pick up our game again and kept the lead. In the final minutes Iup started to gain on us again. But they fell short. This was such an exciting game. This game put SRU back into 4th place. IUP is a huge rival so it was good for the team to walk away with the win.

While in the library some other students were also working on thiers. For some reason the Front Page on my computer opened different than another students. We both opened it though citrix. This project has me frustrated today.

all star game

This weekend is the Basketball allstar game. This game is not like the NFL all star game. This is actually a huge game for us NBA watchers. They have everything from a skills testing to the final game. I am excited to see what goes on this year. My favorite skills test is the dunk compitation. This is a hure event..

Zednik

last night as i watched espn i was shocked to see the Florida Panthers forward Richard Zednik had been hit in the neck with a skate and was cut really bad. As he skated off of the ice he left a blood trail. The audience was speechless and the players were motionless. The game was stopped and almost canceled. Once they found out that the trainers had got the blood stopped and he was in stable condition on his way to have surgey done, the game was back underway. This was very similar to a incident in the 1980's when another NHL player was minutes from death after he was cut on the neck by a sharp skate. Zednikl went into surgery shortly after he reached the hospital and is now resting. The surgery went well and he should recover to 100%.

Terrelle Pryor

I really wish Pryor would just announce where he would be attending school next year. He has to know by now. He can go whereever he wants pretty much. One day he narrows his selection to 3 and the next day it is back up to 4. Pryor atteneded Jeannette High School which is right next door to my high school. I actually attended one of his games this season with some of my friends. He is really a great player and i can see why everyone wants him. His choices are still between Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, and Organ. I my self would love to see him go to Penn State because i am a huge fan. But i look for him to go to Michigan becasue they fit his game better.

Duke win

Last night was a big night for many people in the college basketball world. I myself a big Duke fan was excited for the game. Duke came out ontop with a win 89 to 78 over UNC. I feel that Duke didnt even play that well and neither did UNC. I do believe Duke can win the next 2 matches they have against UNC this year. This win last night gets Duke out of the 3 looses they supported last year from UNC. The game was close up though midway in the 2nd half. Then it was one for one. Duke would make a bucket and UNC would make a bucket. UNC didnt have what it will take to beat the #2 ranked Duke.

wakeboarding

My physical education topic for this class is wakeboarding. I been doing some research on this topic, and i have recently found that this sport is becoming much bigger. I have been wakeboarding for about 6 years now. This is probably the most expensive sport ever. Between mantaining the boat, buying gas, and buying the equipment needed to wakeboard, my wallet has a small dent in it. Even with the cost of this sport i would never want to stop doing it.

GPS

I am amazed with the technology in GPS systems. Next week my brother and I are going to New York snowboarding and our entire trip is already planned out on my GPS. Its amazing. It tells me every place to turn in advance and then if you pass up the turn it will tell you to turn around or take you in another direction to get you back on route. I can go into the GPS and have it tell me all of the nearest places to eat, gas stations, motels, turrets attractions and much more.
